What to expect from your Piano lessons at Empire Music Tuition.

As with all instrumental lessons at Empire Music Tuition, lessons can be structured according to the individual goals and needs of each student. We know that what works for one student won't necessarily work for everyone. Using this approach enables our teachers to individualize each student's lesson, ensuring all your personal goals are met.

For example, some students are interested in progressing through graded levels established by the AMEB (The Australian Music Examinations Board). In this case, lessons are structured towards ensuring you have all the technical, practical and theoretical knowledge required for each grade. You'll be required to perform set pieces from the syllabus, a number of scales, and display some aural skills etc.

Other students may wish to develop their skills as songwriters on the piano, in which case the lessons are geared towards giving students the tools to be able to expand and develop their chord structure knowledge, being influenced from a range of styles while ensuring their technique is up to the standard needed.

Some beginners don't yet have a clear goal in mind and simply want to play for fun and see where it takes them! These lessons will cover a range of areas from sight reading sheet music to learning songs by ear and will provide an all round foundation on the piano.
